Introduction

Welcome to Dictionberry. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and store information when you use our app.

Zero Data Collection Guarantee

We want to be absolutely clear: Dictionberry operates entirely on your device as a standalone game. We do NOT collect, transmit, store, access, share with third parties, or have any ability to see your data or uploaded content.

  • No servers: We do not operate any servers that collect user data
  • No uploads: Your custom audio files never leave your device
  • No tracking: We do not track, monitor, or analyze your usage
  • No analytics: We do not use any analytics or tracking services
  • No third parties: We do not share data with anyone because we don't have access to it
  • No interest in your data: We have zero interest in collecting, viewing, or using your personal information

Your scores, game progress, and custom sounds are completely private and stay on your device forever. They will never be transmitted to us or any third party.

Local Data Storage Only

Dictionberry stores the following information locally on your device only using AsyncStorage (a local device storage system):

  • Game Data: Your high scores, current game progress, and daily play count
  • Custom Audio Files: Raspberry sound recordings you choose to upload (stored in your device's local storage only)
  • Game State: Your current game session to allow you to resume play

✓ All this data remains on your device permanently. It is never uploaded, transmitted, or accessible to us.

How Your Data Is Used

All data stored locally on your device is used solely to:

  • Track your game progress and high scores on your device
  • Save your custom raspberry sound preferences on your device
  • Maintain your game state between sessions on your device
  • Enforce the 3-plays-per-day limit on your device

User-Generated Content (Custom Sounds)

When you upload a custom raspberry sound through the "Raspberry Sound Booth" feature:

  • Stored locally only: The audio file is stored exclusively on your device's local storage
  • Never uploaded: Your audio file is NEVER transmitted to our servers or any third party
  • Never seen by us: We have ZERO access to view, listen to, or analyze your custom sounds
  • Never stored by us: We do not maintain copies of any user-uploaded audio files
  • Never recorded by us: We do not record, log, or track what audio files you upload
  • Completely private: Your custom sounds are 100% private and only accessible to you on your device

The app publisher (us) has absolutely no technical capability to access, view, or retrieve your uploaded audio files.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data:

  • Uninstall the app: All data is automatically deleted when you uninstall Dictionberry
  • Clear app data: You can clear all data through your device's app settings at any time
  • Delete custom sounds: You can delete your custom raspberry sound through the app's interface

We cannot delete your data for you because we don't have access to it—it only exists on your device.

Internet Connection

Dictionberry does not require an internet connection to function. All features work completely offline. If you are connected to the internet, the app may load external web pages (Privacy Policy and Terms of Service) when you tap those links, but no user data is transmitted.

Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

Dictionberry does not share any data with third parties. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. We do not integrate with any external services that could access your data.

This is a completely standalone game that operates independently on your device. Your scores, game progress, and uploaded content are never shared with us or any other party. We have no partnerships, affiliations, or agreements with any third parties that would involve sharing user data.

✓ No data is collected = No data can be shared with third parties

Children's Privacy

Dictionberry is designed to be appropriate for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. All data is stored locally on the device and is never transmitted to any servers or third parties.

Data Security

Your data security is inherently protected by the fact that all data remains on your device. We have implemented local storage using industry-standard AsyncStorage, which is encrypted by your device's operating system. However, the security of your device is your responsibility.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any data, many traditional privacy rights (such as data access requests, data portability, or data deletion requests) are not applicable. You have complete control over all data through your device settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal compliance. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Contact Us

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, please contact us through the app store listing. Please note that we cannot help with data recovery or deletion since all data is stored exclusively on your device.

Summary

Dictionberry is a privacy-first, standalone game. We don't collect, access, store, or transmit any of your data. Everything happens on your device, and your custom sounds never leave your phone. We can't see what you upload, we can't access your scores, and we don't track your usage. Your scores are tracked privately and individually on your device only. Your privacy is protected because we simply don't have access to your data—by design. No data is shared with third parties because no data is collected in the first place.
